AspenTech celebrated its 20th anniversary

on Friday, October 26 when founder and

CEO Larry Evans opened the Nasdaq

Stock Market. With the market opening,

AspenTech marked two decades of

providing a competitive advantage to the

$6 trillion process industries, including the

world's leading chemical, petroleum and

life sciences companies. At the same

time, Evans announced the signing of the

first commercial customers for subsidiary

PetroVantage, which provides a

collaborative software solution for the

$1.4 trillion global petroleum industry.

Aspen ProfitAdvantage for Production Optimization Aspen Engineering Suite™ 11.1 Released
AspenTech's Production Optimization team is gearing up for the release of Aspen Manufacturing Suite 4.1, currently scheduled for general distribution in January 2002. Release 4.1 will have new features enabling process manufacturers to comply with the regulations published by the US FDA in 21 CFR Part 11

New Column Targeting and Hydraulic Analysis Tool in Aspen Plus 11.1
Aspen Plus 11.1 features a new tool for thermal and hydraulic analysis of distillation columns. The tool is useful for design or retrofit analysis and can help achieve reduced utilities costs; improved energy efficiency; introduction of new process integration opportunities; trying new or improved tray/packing designs; reduced capital investment by improved driving forces; and facilitation of column debottlenecking.
